Starting a blog feels a little like talking into the void, but here we go.

I'm Morgan, or Moe as my friends call me. I'm a twenty-seven year old, former teacher turned stay at home mom from the Indianapolis area. I'm all about your usual "granny hobbies"; embroidery, sewing, scrapbooking, you name it, I've tried it.

Three years ago I picked up a crochet hook for the first time on a whim. My daughter, who was one at the time, picked up a crochet kit for a stuffed puppy and said she wanted one. So naturally, I did what any mother would do and dedicated my life to learning how to crochet so I could make her this puppy. I watched YouTube video, after YouTube video, trying to figure out the magic ring (iykyk), chains, single crochets, all of it. It took me about a week but I ended up with a head for what looked more like a koala than a dog, but hey, you gotta start somewhere.

After that, I started with more plushies. In my earlier days I didn't always take pictures just because I lacked the confidence (and honestly, skills) that I have now for my work. I don't make anything unless I love the process of making it because I truly believe our energy and soul is poured into our work and the recipient of the piece can feel that. From time to time I will post other crafts and content, but out of all my little grandma hobbies, crochet is for sure my overall passion. Something about the way a hook glides and knots come together into something beautiful and tangible.

A little about me personally, I have been married for six years to my husband, Andy. He's honestly my best friend and I don't know what I'd do without him. Together we have three beautiful children; Charlie, Hudson, and Mindie. Three kids, three and under at the moment and hanging on by a thread, haha, but they are seriously the tiny loves of my life and being a wife and mother will always be my greatest blessing. I'm also the oldest sibling of seven, with three brothers and three sisters. No, my parents' aren't Catholic. Yes, we all have the same dad. No further questions at this time.

As far as this blog specifically goes, you can expect honest pattern, yarn, and hook reviews, themed pattern collections, free tutorials, and more! Probably toss some miscellaneous crafts and toddler activities here and there as well. I really just want to build a community around this hobby that I love so much and want to spread to more people so they can feel the joy of creating. What you won't see from me is anything polished to perfection or manufactured. I think that is one of the biggest flaws in the online community is the lack of realness. Yeah, my background is gonna be a little messy, I have three toddlers. My post schedule will be a little more chaotic and that's okay. I'm taking this year to take control of my life and content and worry about what makes me happy, not the algorithm.
